A Critics Thought...

7 out of 10

Team MovieTradition's Thoughts on:

When gifted singer-songwriter Charlotte Banks (Alyson Michalka) asks new kid in town Will Burton (Gaelan Connell) to manage her fledgling rock band, she appears to have just one goal in mind: go head-to-head against her egotistical musician ex-boyfriend, Ben (Scott Porter), at the biggest event of the year, a battle of the bands. Against all odds, their band develops a sound all its own with a real shot at success in the contest. Meanwhile, romance brews between Will and Sa5m (Vanessa Hudgens), who plays a mean guitar and has a voice to die for. When disaster strikes, it’s time for the band to make a choice: Do they admit defeat, or face the music and stand up for what they believe in?

MovieTradition gives Bandslam a 7 out of 10 for its humor and plot. There were however a few slow spots that the viewer will have to overcome to fully experience the best parts of the film. In many theaters across the US they will be playing an exclusive “New Moon” (from the Twilight Saga) clip before the movie, Team MT feels that this will be one of the only reasons this film will bring in a lot through the box office. We recommend that you grab the kids and make this a family outing, other than that just wait for the bluray!
