A Critics Thought...
MT's Rating of New Moon : Best Twilight YET!
The Twilight Saga’s second installment finds Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) feeling pretty good –- or at least a little less broody — about the state of things after having ironed out some of the finer points of interspecies dating. Naturally, it doesn’t last long. Bella’s 18th birthday party turns into a bit of a fiasco when Edward’s brother nearly kills Bella in a fit of bloodlust. It’s an awkward situation, to be certain, but while Bella is willing to forgive and forget, Edward elects to leave town -– permanently. The decision sets off a chain of miscommunications that lead to, among other things, cliff diving, a visit with vampire royalty, a supernatural love triangle, and a close call with a scorned vampire (Rachelle Lefevre) whose mate met a gory end at the hands of the Cullens.
Alright guys, MovieTradition first wants to start out saying that before knowing we were going to rate this movie we were not "Twi-hards" as some critics and media outlets call hardcore Twilight Fans, but in knowing that we would have to review this film we had to do our homework. So after long hours of reading book one and two, and also watching the first installment, "Twilight", we became hooked. So going into this film was definitely fun for all of us.
It's massive fan base and ultra-electric buzz reminds us of other popular series, Harry Potter, which we also are HUGE fans of. Now back to 'this' particular film. MovieTradition chose not to give this film a number, but yet the titles of: "Best Twilight Film So Far! and a MT MUST SEE FILM!" MovieTradition felt that this film stuck to a tremendous amount of the book than the first installment, making it more enjoyable for the fans who were fans of the books before the movies. This installment threw in a little more action, a little less Edward, and a lot more Jacob! Through the bitter end of Edward and Bella's relationship this movie will take fans on a journey of despair, love and thrill... all at the same time. We 100% recommend this movie to any and every "Twi-hard". We also recommend that if you have not seen #1 in the series, then you definitely need to take a trip to the nearest Blockbuster before watching New Moon. You will be extremely confused and turned off if not. Now realize that if you have not already joined the craze, this set of films is not for everyone. We recommend young and old girls alike, and men you'll be interested too (that is if it does not matter to you if the Love throughout the film outweighs the Violence). MovieTradition, in closing, gives this movie its top title of MUST SEE FILM! and wishes you happy Twilighting!
